Digital Transformation: Det Nordjyske Mediehus
Det Nordjyske Mediehus (DNMH) has a rich history that dates back to the 2nd of January 1767, when it was first established as “Nyttige og fornøyelige Jydske Efterretninger” by four Aalborg priests, with Johan Wandall as the editor. Over the years, the newspaper underwent several name changes, eventually becoming known as Aalborg Stiftstidende. In 1999, it was renamed NORDJYSKE Stiftstidende following the merger of Aalborg Stiftstidende, Vendsyssel Tidende, Fjerritslev Avis, and Løgstør Avis. The company expanded its coverage to the entire North Jutland region, further strengthened by the inclusion of Thisted Dagblad in 2007 and Morsø Folkeblad in 2013.
Det Nordjyske Mediehus is more than just a newspaper. It has adapted to changing media consumption habits by launching various new projects and focusing on new media. On the 22nd of September 1983, it broke DR’s radio monopoly with the launch of Aalborg Nærradio, now known as ANR 1. In September 2021, it launched the digital business media Vigeur, and in 2023, it introduced a podcast called Limbo in collaboration with headspace.
