Infrastructure as a service

Infrastructure as a service

IaaS delivers fundamental IT infrastructure resources like computers, servers, virtual machines, network, and storage to consumers over the internet and on a pay-as-you-go basis. It enables users to scale resources on an as-needed basis, reducing the need for high, up-front capital expenditures and the complexity that comes with buying, setting up, and maintaining on-premises infrastructure. The IaaS model offers benefits such as flexibility, cost-efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

Infrastructure as a service

We are your best companion. That is our promise to you.

Our Infrastructure as a Service allows you to rent workloads from a month-to-month basis. It is a completely flexible and compliant solution for the modern private cloud world.

The NetNordic IaaS Platform is based on a flexible usage model with pricing based on daily usage allowing customers to dynamically scale their requirements needs whilst retaining economic control.

Benefits of Secure Private Cloud IaaS

These benefits make NetNordic IaaS solution a compelling choice for many organizations looking to optimize their IT infrastructure. The benefits of using Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) include:

  • Flexibility and Scalability: IaaS provides a high degree of flexibility and scalability, allowing you to quickly scale up or down based on your needs.
  • High Availability: IaaS vendors offer a highly reliable environment where replacement virtual machines can be rapidly and predictably commissioned.
  • Cost Savings: With IaaS, you only pay for the infrastructure resources you use, which can significantly reduce costs compared to maintaining on-premises infrastructure where Capex and investment is needed in a regular cycle.
  • Faster Deployment: It is  easier and faster to deploy new applications and services with IaaS than with traditional on-premises infrastructure.
  • Security: IaaS vendors provide robust security measures to protect your data and applications.

Key features of IaaS

NetNordic offers an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform that allows customers to rent a hardware platform while retaining control over the day-to-day management of the VMs placed on the service. The solution is offered in two different flavors:

Single Site Service

All servers are hosted in a single datacenter.

Dual Site Setup

For mission-critical applications, servers are hosted across two datacenters. In the event of an outage in one datacenter, all applications will automatically continue to operate in the second datacenter.

IaaS

Included in the IaaS platform, as a standard,
are the following elements:

  • Windows OS Licensing
  • Secure Firewall
  • Management and Monitoring of Platform 24 x 7
  • Hypervisor Platform
  • Managed Hypervisor
  • Patching and Maintenance of Hypervisor Platform  24 x 7
  • Backup
  • Encryption of All Data
  • Optional Disaster Recovery and Testing
  • Advanced Ransomware Protection and Monitoring
  • Data Storage in Best Practice 3-2-1 Model ( 3 Copies)
  • Management Platform for Self Service
  • Deployment of New VMs
  • Management of VMs
  • Monitoring of VMs

FAQ

Common questions and answers about IaaS:

  • What is Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)?

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a cloud computing model that provides on-demand access to computing resources over the internet, including networking, storage, and other infrastructural components. It allows users to develop, grow, and scale without buying and maintaining physical hardware.

  • What are the benefits of using IaaS?

The benefits of using IaaS include the following:

    • Cost Savings: You only pay for the infrastructure resources you use, which can significantly reduce costs compared to maintaining on-premises infrastructure.
    • Flexibility and Scalability: IaaS provides a high degree of flexibility and scalability, allowing you to quickly scale up or down based on your needs.
    • Faster Deployment: It is usually easier and faster to deploy new applications and services with IaaS than with traditional on-premises infrastructure.
    • High Availability: IaaS vendors offer a highly reliable environment where replacement virtual machines can be rapidly and predictably commissioned.
    • Security: IaaS vendors provide robust security measures to protect your data and applications.
  • How does IaaS differ from other cloud service models like PaaS and SaaS?

IaaS provides the fundamental IT infrastructure resources such as computers, servers, virtual machines, network, and storage. Platform as a Service (PaaS) offers a platform allowing customers to develop, run, and manage applications without dealing with the underlying infrastructure. Software as a Service (SaaS) delivers software applications over the internet, on a subscription basis, without the need for installation or maintenance.

  • What are some common use cases for IaaS?

Common use cases for IaaS include:

    • Development and Testing: Quickly set up and dismantle development and test environments.
    • Website Hosting: Host websites and web applications.
    • Storage, Backup, and Recovery: Store data and create backup and recovery solutions.
    • High-Performance Computing: Run complex and resource-intensive applications.
    • Big Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets and perform data mining.
  • What should be considered when choosing an IaaS provider?

When choosing an IaaS provider, consider factors such as:

    • Cost: Compare pricing models and ensure they align with your budget.
    • Performance: Evaluate the performance and reliability of the provider’s infrastructure.
    • Security: Ensure the provider offers robust security measures.
    • Scalability: Check if the provider can scale resources according to your needs.
    • Support: Look for providers that offer strong customer support and service level agreements (SLAs).
