Hotel Bellora
Unique Hotel Bellora is owned by the Swedish Ess Group and is centrally located in Gothenburg. This unique boutique hotel is worth a trip to Gothenburg in itself. With charming hotel rooms, a good restaurant, and a nightclub, this hotel is a place guests will want to return to.
Hotel Bellora in Gothenburg chooses NetNordic as its supplier.
Hotel Bellora selects NetNordic as the provider of cloud-based IPTV with casting, upgrading the coax network, and WIFI!
The Challenge for Hotel Bellora
Over time, the hotel has noted that guests increasingly wanted access to a more advanced TV solution. Solutions that allowed them to watch their own content on TV while in their rooms. At the same time, the growing use of streaming services by guests requires a more robust wireless network.
Hotel Bellora therefore recognized the need to upgrade both the WIFI and the TV solution currently in place. This was a significant challenge as there was no standard network cabling into the guest rooms, which would enable the delivery of the services guests desired. Additionally, it would incur substantial costs to run new cables into the rooms. The hotel would also have to shut down parts of the hotel if such a project were to be carried out. This would result in lost revenue and negatively impact guests’ stays at Hotel Bellora.
Ess Group wanted to find a partner who could offer a solution that met the guests’ needs. A partner that would allow the hotel to maintain its regular operations during the project’s implementation. It was also crucial that guests’ stays at the hotel were not affected.
There was also a requirement that the services to be delivered were cloud-based, so the hotel would have no responsibility for operation, maintenance, or upgrades.
How NetNordic Solved the Challenge
Ess Group chose NetNordic as the total supplier for the Hotel Bellora project. All solutions were delivered as cloud-based services over the same platform. Through this cloud platform, the hotel received WIFI, networking, telephony, and IPTV. As part of the IPTV delivery, a cloud-based IPTV headend was included, distributing TV channels to all rooms in the hotel, along with SMART TVs with integrated Chromecast.
Additionally, NetNordic upgraded the existing coax-based network at the hotel using specially adapted technology. This now functions as a modern wired network without the need for new cables to be run into the guest rooms. By using this technology, Hotel Bellora could maintain normal hotel operations throughout the project period without needing to take rooms out of service.
