ORO Eiendom
Oro Eiendom brought continental habits regarding food, drink, and “socializing” to Oslo when they opened their new concept Revier in November 2022. Hotel Revier is located in the former premises of Hotel Grimms Grenka, previously one of Oslo’s most famous hotels. Revier’s vision is to create all-day experiences for its visitors by providing them with an unforgettable experience and high service. With a rich selection of restaurants and bars, a private cinema, and tastefully decorated hotel rooms, guests who have visited Revier are guaranteed to return! It is all topped off by what will be experienced as one of Oslo’s finest rooftops. Here, high-quality food and drinks will be served with a view that few other rooftops can match.
ORO Eiendom opens Oslo’s most exciting neighborhood hotel!
The property developer and operator Oro Eiendom had ambitions to establish itself as a player in Norway within the operation of hotels and dining establishments. They wanted to create a concept unlike anything else. A concept with a passion for food and drink, as well as opportunities for accommodation in an extraordinary hotel setting – Att Revier.
Create Gold from Bricks
Oro Eiendom has a vision of creating gold from bricks. Central to the company’s business idea is a mantra that the properties Oro develops should benefit the local community. Oro Eiendom is now set to take the concept from the successful venture at Revier in central Oslo out to the rest of Norway. Several other similar projects are currently under development, and Revier Oslo is set to receive four new sister hotels over the next two years.
Revier is created in an older building right by Akershus Fortress. The building where Revier was to be established was outdated and required a complete renovation. This represented a significant challenge for Oro Eiendom. Since Revier was the first establishment of the concept, it was critical that the timelines were adhered to. It was also important that the concept was successful from day one. It was essential for Oro Eiendom that all technology was future-oriented, robust, and easy to use. This user-friendliness was to apply to both guests and staff, as the digital aspect constituted a large part of the guest experience at Revier. It was crucial for Oro Eiendom that the chosen partner could take full responsibility for the delivery of technology to Revier. Oro Eiendom wanted to focus on the development of the concept itself, without having to be “hands-on” with the necessary technology deliveries.
Based on Experiences from Previous Projects
NetNordic was contacted based on experiences from previous projects. We were then given the opportunity to present our thoughts and input on the project. We were chosen as the technology partner for Revier after a comprehensive assessment. NetNordic has been an advisory party in the development of the property from the early stages when it was still on the drawing board. We assisted, among other things, with the development of a completely new interface for the IPTV solution that guests could use. We also helped with radio planning for wireless networks and documentation for cabling work that needed to be carried out.
Renovating such buildings often has somewhat unpredictable progress. This is due to the fact that challenges can arise that require changes to the timelines, technology adjustments, and similar. Therefore, it was important for Oro Eiendom to establish a partnership with an actor who had good knowledge of the hotel sector. Additionally, the suppliers needed to be able to provide good advice and be adaptable. This proved to be crucial in the final decision to choose NetNordic.
It was also of great importance that staff had access to technology and services that enabled them to perform their work as quickly, efficiently, and guest-friendly as possible. Furthermore, there was a desire for all services delivered to the hotel to be cloud-based. The hotel did not want to take responsibility for operations, maintenance, or upgrades.
Predictable cost structure and minimal technical installations
All solutions were delivered as cloud-based services on the same platform. Through this cloud platform, the hotel has received WIFI, networking, an IPTV solution for guests, and telephony. As part of the IPTV delivery, a newly developed and innovative interface for guests is included. All rooms in the hotel are equipped with a cloud-based IPTV headend that distributes TV channels. Each room has a SMART TV with integrated Chromecast, allowing guests to stream their own content to the TV screens in their rooms. The IPTV solution is also integrated with the PMS system, enabling guests to use all streaming and casting services.
The delivered platform ensures that Revier has a predictable cost structure and minimal technical installations in the hotel. They have no responsibility for the operation, maintenance, or upgrades of the technology. At the same time, Oro Eiendom AS achieves scalability, making it easy to establish Revier’s sister properties on the same technical service platform as part of its growth strategy.

Professional partners
Att Revier is Oro Eiendom’s first establishment of its new experience concept in Norway. To ensure the continued development of the concept and the launch of similar concepts in other Norwegian cities, it was important that the opening went as planned and that professional partners were involved in all areas.
A strategic partner for the delivery of technology was considered particularly important, and criteria such as predictability, trust, flexibility, and delivery quality were emphasized. After a comprehensive evaluation, NetNordic was awarded the contract for the delivery of technology to the hotel.
Revier opened its doors to guests in November 2022 and has, from day one, been at the top of the lists within its market in Oslo, with satisfied returning guests and a high rating on Tripadvisor.
