Polygon Group’s Growth Strategy: Expanding Through Strategic Acquisitions
As Polygon Group continues its global expansion, acquiring new companies has become a key strategy for growth. These acquisitions typically begin with small teams who bring local expertise and established relationships within their regions. Over time, these teams scale through either organic growth or additional acquisitions, further strengthening Polygon’s regional presence and service offerings. This strategy allows Polygon to rapidly enter new markets and regions, diversify its capabilities, and strengthen its competitive position.
IT Fragmentation resulting from growth
While serving as a key driver of growth, the continuous acquisition of companies presented several challenges for Polygon Group. Each acquired company often operated with its own systems, processes, and IT infrastructure, which often differed significantly from Polygon Group’s existing processes. Securing and managing such a fragmented IT landscape is no small task and was a never-ending challenge for the central organization.
Making things more complicated, Polygon Group hosted a significant portion of their IT infrastructure on-premises and were entirely dependent on their supplier for operations and scaling. This made it more difficult to efficiently integrate and manage the subsidiaries’ systems without disrupting daily operations.
Migrating to Azure with NetNordic
Polygon Group ultimately decided to move from existing on-premises infrastructure to Azure, thus gaining control over their IT systems, reducing operational costs, and improving stability and scalability. NetNordic was chosen as a partner to facilitate this transition by handling the technical migration of IT infrastructure, providing Azure security guidance, and helping reduce operational costs in the new cloud platform.
Since we at NetNordic know that such a large transition in an organization is not just a matter of technology but also people, we took responsibility for and delivered change management in the migration project. This included end-user training, communication, and expectation management to ensure a smooth transition for all employees.
