NetNordic secures a contract with Teekay Offshore to deliver its ZeroTouch SHIELD solution for Teekay Offshore’s fleet of FPSOs (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading). Teekay Offshore Production is the first customer of the NetNordic SHIELD solution outside the Norwegian continental shelf.
Teekay Offshore (Teekay) is a leading international midstream service provider to the offshore oil production industry, primarily focused on the ownership and operation of critical infrastructure assets in offshore oil regions of the North Sea, Brazil and the East Coast of Canada.
Teekay Offshore is a market leader in providing FPSO solutions to companies that produce oil and gas in deep waters and harsh weather condition. The global FPSO solution provider has currently assets operating in both the Norwegian and UK parts of the North Sea, as well as in Brazil.
Developed in cooperation with the oil and gas industry
NetNordic SHIELD is a remote access security solution that has been under development for more than 11 years in close cooperation with the oil and gas industry. The system is specifically developed to help companies handle security issues related to work on process control systems, safety systems and Information and communications technology (ICT) systems, and to facilitate a company’s move away from manual and vulnerable processes.
The system automates the work processes and enables operations to keep track of all work tasks performed on an asset’s ICT systems. NetNordic SHIELD complies with cyber security guidelines NOG088, NOG104 and IEC62443.

Moves access control closer to the right authority
Integration with Teekay’s digital work permit system automates the process of obtaining approvals from the right professionals and authorities, providing qualified users with the correct access levels within a defined time frame. This enables more work to be carried out remotely onshore.
The level of access is defined by the work to be done and is determined by a discipline professional. The access control follows the risk level, and when the access expires, it closes automatically. This helps us to maintain full control of all accesses without having to rely on technical personnel to open or close them.
